First MASAI Workshop: A Step Forward in Damage Assessment Using Advanced Technologies

On April 11th, 2024, the first MASAI Workshop was held at the EUCENTRE Foundation, a key event for the MASAI project, an innovative platform using high-resolution SAR and optical technologies to rapidly assess damage in war and natural disaster scenarios. The meeting, with the participation of partners TerrAria, Gisky, EUCENTRE Foundation and funded by ESA, explored the role of satellite technologies in humanitarian crisis response. With around two hundred remote participants and thirty in attendance, the workshop highlighted the importance of the MASAI platform in crisis management and paved the way for the pilot phase of the project. The event confirmed the uniqueness and value of the MASAI project, which is now ready for the pilot phase and further developments.
