The annual American Geophysical Union (AGU) meeting, held in Washington, D.C., and running through December 13, 2024, stands as a premier international forum for Earth and space sciences, regularly drawing over 25,000 participants from over 100 countries. This year, MASAI has taken a prominent place within this esteemed gathering, showcasing how satellite-based artificial intelligence can transform humanitarian crisis response and post-conflict damage assessments.

Developed within the MASAI Project and funded by the European Space Agency (ESA), our “Map for Damage Assessment with Satellite Artificial Intelligence (MASAI)” tool was presented during the session “Tracking the Footprint of War: Earth and Environmental Perspectives on Monitoring Conflict Impacts.” The MASAI solution is highlighted in a dedicated poster, “A Tool to Support and Monitor Humanitarian Crisis, Tailored for War Damage,” available online during the conference and through February 2025.
